John Surtees has been in The London Silver Vaults for more than 25 years and has worked directly with many of the dealers for longer. John started work in the Royal Mint before a career managing a silver manufacturing firm and then setting up his own business. John's son, Simon, now manages the family business, starting his apprenticeship in The Vaults aged 16. As part of offering beautiful silverware, functionality is key to the firm's ethos of providing good-quality antique and modern silver tableware. Simon says they are increasingly selling more decorative statement pieces, often of contemporary design.
